RCB thrash KXIP by 10 wickets

Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets as the opposition was bowled out for the lowest IPL total this season.

RCB won the toss and opted to bowl first. Batting first, KXIP got bowled out for just 88 runs in 15.1 overs. Lokesh Rahul and Aaron Finch scored 21 and 26 respectively while Chris Gayle managed double figures for 18 runs, rest others couldn’t even reach double figures. Umesh Yadav was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4-0-23-3. He was adjudged Man of the Match.

In reply, RCB chased the small target without losing any wicket. Virat Kohli scored unbeaten 48 runs with the help of two sixes and four fours while Parthiv Patel scored 40 runs that included seven boundaries.

KXIP who won 5 of their first 6 games has lost 5 of last 6 games. They need to win their remaining two matches if they are to qualify for the playoffs.

On the other hand, RCB has an outside chance if other teams lose and they win their remaining games.

 In today’s match, Kolkata Knight Riders will play Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. A win is must for both the teams. Both the teams have registered six wins in 12 matches. RR lost to KKR in the last meet at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. RR will look to beat KKR but the home team has the upper edge as they will be playing on their home ground.
