Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Mumbai Indians by 31 runs in a low-scoring game that took place at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to field first. Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad got bowled out for 118 runs in 18.4 overs. Kane Williamson scored 29 runs while Yusuf Pathan scored 29.
The team’s momentum in the middle broke when Shakib Al Hasan was run out in the in the sixth over. Mitchell McClenaghan, Hardik Pandya, and Mayank Markande picked two wickets each.
In reply, Mumbai Indians too had a daunting start as they reduced to 21 for 3 in the sixth over. Surya Kumar Yadav (34) and Krunal Pandya (24) controlled the game in the middle for a while but once they got out the entire team was reduced to just 87 runs. As a result, MI lost the game after SRH’s strong defense.
Siddharth Kaul scalped three wickets while Rashid Khan and Basil Thampi managed two each.
Rashid Khan was adjudged Man of the Match for his figures of 4-1-11-2.
