SRH produced their brilliance with the bowl to win their fourth consecutive game while defending 146 runs at Rajiv Gandhi International stadium on Monday.
RCB won the toss and opted to bowl. Batting first, SRH were all out for 146 runs in their 20 overs. Skipper Kane Williamson scored 56 runs off 39 balls that included two sixes and five fours while Shakib Al Hasan scored 35 runs.
Williamson was adjudged Man of the Match.
Tim Southee and Mohd. Siraj scalped three wickets each.
In reply, RCB lost the match in the last over. They required 12 runs off the last over but Bhuvneshwar Kumar ensured SRH’s win. Virat Kohli scored 39 runs while Colin de Grandhomme also scored 33 runs but couldn’t pull it off the last ball. Mandeep Singh and Parthiv Patel also chipped in with their 20s.
Shakib Al Hasan picked two wickets.
The win ensures qualification for the SRH in the semi-final. They are now placed at the top of the points table with 8 wins in 10 games while RCB will have to depend on other teams to qualify for the semi-final stages even if they win all their remaining 4 matches.
In today’s match, Rajasthan Royals will play Kings XI Punjab at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. RR who has lost their last three matches are placed at the bottom of the league table.
They need to win all their next five games to qualify for the semi-finals while Kings XI Punjab is just two wins away to reach the semi-finals.
