Sunrisers Hyderabad defends, KKR Triumphs

Sunrisers Hyderabad continues to successfully defend third game in a row while KKR triumphs over RCB in yesterday’s game.

SRH vs. Rajasthan Royals

The 28th match of the league took place between SRH and RR where SRH won the toss and opted to bat first at Royal’s fortress in Jaipur.

Batting first they scored 151 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs. Kane Williamson scored 63 runs while Alex Hales who was playing his first game in the VivoIPL scored 45 runs. Jofra Archer picked three wickets while Krishnappa Gowtham scalped two wickets.

In reply, Rajasthan Royals could only manage 140-6 in their 20 overs. Ajinkya Rahane played an unbeaten inning of 65 runs off 53 balls while Sanju Samson played 30 balls 40 runs. SRH bowlers kept the game tight. Sidharth Kaul was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 4-0-23-2.

Kane Williamson was adjudged Man of the Match.

SRH is on top of the league’s table with 6 wins in 8 matches.

In another game, Kolkata Knight Riders played against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru where KKR won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Batting first, RCB scored 175 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their 20 overs. Virat Kohli scored unbeaten 68 runs off 44 balls while Quinton De Cock and Brendon McCullum contributed 29 and 38 runs respectively. Andre Russell picked 3 wickets.

In reply, KKR had a strong start with Sunil Narine (27) and Chris Lynn (62*), Uthappa scored 36(21) runs while skipper Dinesh Karthik chipped in with 23(10) runs. They chased the target by 6 wickets with 5 balls to spare.

Rain interrupted the game during the 7th over but it was just the passing showers.

Chriss Lynn was dropped on 7. He was declared MoM.

M Siraj and M Ashwin picked two wickets each.
