T20 women’s Asia Cup: India wins by 17 runs

Indian women cricket team has added another feather to its cap by winning 2016 Women’s Asia Cup T20 title on Sunday which was held at Asian Institute of Technology Ground in Bangkok.

With this triumph, Indian women cricket team clinched their sixth Asia Cup title and secured their fourth win over Pakistan in the Asia Cup.

India had set target of 122 runs in 20 over’s, but Pakistan scored 104 with loss of six wickets. India beat Pakistan by 17 runs.

Mithali Raj won the title of Player of the Match and remained the top scorer, and completed her 9th half century and unbeaten with 73 runs. Jhulan Goswami, Ekta Bisht and Preeti Bose other team members also played well.

Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur said, “Whatever we planned, it worked out and we played really well. We set a decent total for us and we bowled really well to defend it. I told my bowlers to bowl in the right areas and bowl dot balls”. She appreciated the efforts of bowlers including Anuja, Ekta and Preeti.
