Virat Kohli scores his third double century of the year

No doubt Indian cricket team has performed spectaculous throughout test series against England. But today Indian captain Virat Kohli on fourth day of the fourth test match at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai accomplished another achievement by scoring third double hundred in year 2016.

With this achievement, Virat Kohli became the first Indian captain to score three double hundreds in a year. Kohli achieved this feat against England in 302 balls with 23 fours.

On Sunday Kohli started with 147* achieved double century in first session of the fourth day, 4th test match.

Earlier this year during the Caribbean Islands tour, Kohli had scored a double century against West Indies and In October he scored his second double century against New Zealand.

Kohli become the first Indian batsman who crossed 1000 – run this year with score of 739 runs in ODIs and 641 runs in T20s and he also crossed 4000 – run mark in his Test match career and became sixth fastest Indian batsman to reach the figure.

Kohli has scored 552 runs with average of 138 in seven innings in Test series against England. With double century against England, Kohli now has become first Indian batsman in Test history score 200s in three consecutive series.
