Google has just started a new feature in the form of Android P. The ambitious update includes significant changes to the operating system.
The late release will begin late this summer. The installation is available on selected smartphones.
Some of the supported devices include Pixel 2/ XL, Pixel / XL, Essential Phone, Sony Xperia XZ2, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Nokia 7 Plus, Oppo R15 Pro, Vivo X21.
If you have a pixel phone, the process is easy. The pre-release versions will be updated over the next few months. Make sure you are signed into your Google account before you’ll be using. Post signing users will get a prompt on their device about the update being available and that it can be installed.
Backup your device before installing the software. “The updates that you’ll receive as part of this program are pre-release versions and may contain errors and defects that can affect the normal functioning of your device,”reads Android Beta Program page.
The new features include an adaptive battery, adaptive brightness, slices (booking cab directly from search results) and iPhone-X like gestures apart from Google Compose (helps to write e-mails faster), new Google news app with Artificial Intelligence, and more.
Moreover, a new Dashboard app shows how much time they spent on particular apps, number of times the phone has been unlocked, App Timer allows the user to set time limits on the app, etc.
In non-google devices, the installation will take an extra bit of work.
