Google to shut down Project Tango, will focus on ARCore platform

As per the recent reports, Google will shut down Tango, the augmented reality platform which was launched in the year 2014.

The Company said in a Tweet, “Thank you to our incredible community of developers who made such progress with Tango over the last three years”.

It was further added, “We look forward to continuing the journey with you on ARCore”.

It was reported that the new AR platform has been introduced with Google Pixel and Samsung S8, which will run Android 7.0 Nougat.

Sources said that unlike Tango, ARCore doesn’t require additional hardware.

While in a statement, the Google Tango team tweeted: “We’re turning down support for Tango on March 1, 2018. Thank you to our incredible community of developers who made such progress with Tango over the last three years. We look forward to continuing the journey with you on ARCore”.

It was learned that the American tech giant Google is working manufacturers like Samsung, Huawei, LG, ASUS and other smartphone makers.
