As per the reports, South Korean multinational mobile manufacturing company- Samsung, becomes the leader in the highly competitive and price-sensitive Indian market for the financial year 2016-17.
It was reported that the company has touched a mammoth 34,300 crore.
Aasim Warsi, Global Vice President, Samsung India said in a statement, “Samsung continues to be India’s smartphone leader by a fair distance. We are growing across segments — premium, mid-segment and affordable”.
It was learned that with this growth, the South Korean giant has eclipsed the sales of key Chinese brands such as Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo, Lenovo and even the American multinational technology company Apple.
It was further added, “Our ears are firm to the ground and this helps us deliver the best smartphone experience to our consumers and that is helping us gain the trust of consumers. We will sustain and consolidate our leadership in the smartphone industry”.
While in a statement, the company said,”We continue to be the market leader in India by a distance and through our innovations and trust and love of our consumers, we will sustain and consolidate our leadership in the smartphone industry over the next few years”.
It was believed that Xiaomi had 23.5 percent market share in India, the Lenovo-Motorola combine market share was at 9 percent, Vivo was at 8.5 percent share and OPPO was reported at 7.9 percent share in India.
Samsung has recently announced it would invest its Noida manufacturing plant.
