In a bizarre incident, a Hindu woman marries her Jewish partner which is believed to be Britain’s first interfaith lesbian wedding in the history.
It was reported that Kalavati Mistry, 48, and Miriam Jefferson met 2 years ago when they were on a training period in the US.
The lesbian couple tied the knot last week in Leicester.
Jefferson said in a statement, “It’s really nice to now have a Hindu wedding here because it brings both of us together and completes both of us in my eyes”.
It was observed that both the couple wore fresh garlands, red and white colored saree and mangal sutras.
Mistry told the reporters, “It was very difficult for me as an Asian gay woman”.
Both the couple will now spend their entire life together in Texas.
