Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia in ‘Star Wars’, has died in Los Angeles four days after suffering a heart attack on a flight from London. She was 60.
Fisher was flying from London to Los Angeles on Friday, December 23, when she suffered a heart attack. A medic onboard performed CPR on the actress until paramedics arrived to take her to UCLA Medical Center, where she was placed on a ventilator.
Simon Halls, a spokesperson for Fisher’s family, said in a statement : “It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8.55 this morning. She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.”
