Andrei Karlov, Russian ambassador to turkey assassinated in Ankara

Andrei Gennadyevich Karlov who served as the Russian Ambassador to Turkey was assassinated in an art gallery exhibition in Ankara, Capital city of Turkey, by an off duty cop on Monday.

Immediately after assassination, Karlov was taken to the nearby hospital where he was spotted dead. Karlov was in between of his speech at art gallery, and suddenly a gunmen from the audience openly started firing, which created panic among people.

According to the reports, gunman was an off duty cop of Turkey named Mevlut Mert Altintas. He was too killed by the Turkish police.

A Russian foreign ministry spokesperson officially confirmed that the demise of Russian diplomat Andrei Karlov, which marked as one more reason of the conflict which may increase tension between Turkey and Russia, as both countries have been witnessing ups and down relationship because of Syrian war and crises.

There is a video footage of assassination which shows gunmen in black suit, standing over the fallen ambassador with gun in hand, screaming, “Don’t forget Aleppo, and don’t forget Syria.”
