Two separate shootings took place in London within an hour killing a 17-year-old girl and leaving a boy, 16, critically-ill.
The teenage girl was found wounded by a bullet at Chalgrove Road, Tottenham on Monday night. Paramedics failed to restore the girl declaring her dead after an hour at the crime scene.
Elsewhere, two boys were also found injured in Walthamstow, one with bullet wounds and other(aged 15) with stab injuries.
A local resident said she heard multiple shots which sounded like a bomb exploding.
“It’s not nice. I’ve lived here for 40 years and in the last two or three years it’s become not a nice place.”
“There are so many drugs, stabbings, and killings,” she added.
The girl’s kin has been informed of her death.
Both the boys with wounds and injuries admitted to a local hospital. The 16-year-old boy with bullet wounds is in a critical condition and fighting for his life.
As of now, no arrests are made. Police are investigating the case.
The shootings come amid concerns over rising violent crime in the capital. The first quarter of this year has seen 46 murders in the capital.
On Sunday a 20-year-old man became the 31st victim of knife crime in London so far this year. He was fatally stabbed moments after leaving a bar in Wandsworth and died on the street.
It follows a spike in violence in London in recent weeks which saw more murders committed in the capital in February and March than there were in New York, according to figures released by the New York Police Department.
