At least nine people died and dozens are missing after a boat carrying 170 people on board sank in a reservoir on Sunday near northwest Colombia.
An army helicopter has been sent to the spot, officials said.
It was reported that more than 20 people were sent to the hospital in Guatapé.
Luis Bernardo Morales, Fire service captain said in a statement, “It sank extremely quickly. It all happened in a few minutes”.
“Nobody really knows what happened”, President Juan Manuel Santos told the media.
The cause of the mishap was not yet clear, but the survivors sad that it happened due to overload. Also, nobody was wearing a life vest.
