Japan: US Navy aircraft crashes off Japan island

As per the recent reports, US Navy aircraft which was carrying at least 11 crew members and passengers have been reportedly crashed into the sea off the coast of Japan on Wednesday.

It was reported that the plane crashed while it was on its way to the USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier, officials confirm.

The statement reads, “Personnel recovery is underway and their condition will be evaluated by USS Ronald Reagan medical staff”.

While confirming the news, Japan’s defense minister said, eight of the people on board have been found, but it was not clear whether they are alive or not.

It was further added, “The names of the crew and passengers are being withheld pending next of kin notification”.

The cause of the crash was still unknown.

Although, this is not the first instance where the navy craft crashed.  In the month of June, the USS Fitzgerald reportedly smashed into cargo ship off the coast of Japan and killed at least seven passengers on board.

Reports say US military vessels has recently involved in several numbers of accidents in recent time in East Asia.
