Mexico Earthquake: 7.1-magnitude quake jolts city

A strong 7.1-magnitude earthquake rocks the Mexico City killing unknown of people on late Tuesday night.

It was reported that at least 149 people were reportedly killed in a powerful earthquake which struck central Mexico on Tuesday night.

The death toll is likely to rise as the rescue operation is still in the process said the rescue crews in the Mexico City.

Mexican minister to China Jorge Guajardo tweeted,”Panic and frustration after Mexico City earthquake”.

The  7.1-magnitude quake measured on rector scale jolted Mexico City causing building sway sickeningly on the anniversary of a 1985 quake which reportedly caused major damage in the capital.

President Enrique Pena Nieto told the reporters, “The priority is to help victims that have been affected, and rescue those that are trapped in buildings”.

Following the mishap, it was discovered that an office building of around five stories in the chic Condesa district of central Mexico City reportedly collapsed.

US President Donald Trump tweeted, “God bless the people of Mexico City. We are with you and will be there for you”.

Mexico’s seismological agency calculated the quake and told that its epicenter was east of the city in the state of Puebla.
