Pakistan International Airlines carrying 48 passengers crashes near Abbottabad

On Wednesday, Pakistan International Airlines PK 661, carrying 48 passengers, near Havelian in Abbottabad.

All 48 people on board a PIA aircraft were killed, including famous Pakistani pop star turned evangelical Muslim cleric Junaid Jamshed , five crew members and three foreigners , as the aircraft crashed and burst into flames  after facing engine problems near  Havelian in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

PK-661 took off from Chitral in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at 3.30 pm and was expected to arrive at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad at 4.40 pm.

According to Pakistan International Airlines PK 661 lost contact with the control tower near Havelian in Abbottabad district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region enroute to Islamabad. Around 4.42 pm PST, ill fated aircraft crashed.

General Manager Public Affairs and Spokesman Pakistan International Airlines, Danyal Gilani informed about the massive incident on Twitter.
