Punjab CM Amarinder urges Sushma Swaraj to look into killing of Youth in US

In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old youth was allegedly shot dead by robbers at a gas station near San Francisco on Tuesday.

Police officials told the media, the boy hails from Khotran village near Banga town of Punjab State.

The boy was identified as Dharampreet Singh by the officials.

It was learned that Dharampreet Singh has allegedly moved to the US to pursue his higher studies in Law.

In recent past, the hate crime against Sikhs has been reportedly increased in the different parts of US.

It was reported that the victim was hiding behind the cash counter where he was allegedly shot by four robbers after looting the gas station.

Following this, the Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has urged the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to look into the matter of the killing of the Sikh youth in the US.

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh moved to Twitter and wrote, “Shocked at the gruesome killing of Nawanshahr’s Dharampreet Singh in California. SushmaSwarajji, request you to take up the issue at the highest level with US authorities to ensure justice for the family”.
