Tsunami hits Japan after 7.4 magnitude earthquake

A high powered earthquake traumatized the northern Japan. The earthquake arrived with the magnitude of 7.4 in Tokyo, and completely ruined the city.

The earthquake, which was felt in Tokyo, had a magnitude of 7.4, was centered off the coast of Fukushima prefecture around 6 am on Tuesday at a depth of about 10 km (6 miles).

According to the weather agency: Tsunami waves of up to 1.4 meters observed around Sendai area and it is reported that two old aged persons got injured.

According to the reports, seismic sea wave was observed in Onahama port and Soma port in Fukushima prefecture, Sendai port and Ishinomaki Ayukawa in northeastern Miyagi prefecture, Oarai port in eastern Ibaraki prefecture and Katsuura in eastern Chiba prefecture.

According to meteorological agency, there were no reports of deaths or serious injuries several hours after the quake hit at 5:59 a.m.

To add on to this, Shinkansen train services were partially affected in eastern Japan and power outage affected 1,100 households in Fukushima prefecture and central Niigata prefecture.
