The British government decided to increase the visa fee from today onwards with an aim to amplify self-funding fund.
The British government came up with several modifications in Tier 2 category of visa which is widely used by non-European Union nationals.
The UK Home Office said “Set at 1,000 pounds per employee per year, and a reduced rate of 364 pounds for small or charitable organizations, it (Immigration Skills Charge) is designed to cut down on the number of businesses taking on migrant workers and incentivise training British staff to fill those jobs,”
However, UK’s tougher norms might prove unfavorable for Indian professionals looking for employment in the Europe Union.
The modified rules will not applicable to Ph.D. level jobs, while international students who are willing to convert their student visa to working visa are also being exempted.
