Bihar Class 12th results 2017 : Topper Ganesh Kumar arrested on Friday, Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) cancels his results with immediate effect, officials announced.
In a hurriedly-called press conference, Anand Kishore announced Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) lodged a police case against Kumar after he supposedly failed to answer basic questions asked by a TV news channel.
His sudden vanishing, selection of subjects—music and home science—raised doubt among authorities. After various media reports demonstrated his ineligibility, the BSEB was compelled to investigate into the matter.
This is the second successive time when the cresults of the boards were encompassed with discussion. A year ago, Bihar Board pronounced Ruby Kumari in Humanities stream but she failed to answer the basic questions of the subject. An examination uncovered the nexus between the relatives of Ruby Kumari and Board’s director. Bihar police captured the father and other persons after the investigation. Prior, the board picked up reputation when more than 60 percent students bombed in board examinations bringing up major issues over the standards of teaching in the state.
According to reports Ganesh had even attempted to clarify what are ‘Sur’, “Taal” and ‘Matra’- the nuts and bolts of music. Asked about his music practicals, he unrhythmically sang a couple lines of a Bollywood number.
The 24-year-old Kumar showed up for the board exams at Ramnandan Singh Jagdip Narayan High school in Samastipur’s Chhakhabib town and scored 82.6 percent.
Out of the total 12,40,168 students who wrote the examinations, only 4,37,115 passed. This was the worst BSEB result in nearly two decades.
