At least six people were reported injured after an explosion took place inside a Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train near Madhya Pradesh’s Shajapur district on Tuesday morning.
It was reported that the blast has taken place in a general coach of the train around 9:30 am in the morning when the train was on its way to Ujjain from Bhopal.
Although, the MP Government has announced Rs 25,000 compensation for those who got injured in the mishap and Rs 50,000 for those who were critically injured.
In a statement Anil Saxena, Railway Ministry spokesperson said, “Eight passengers were injured in the blast which seemed to be of a low intensity. Security agencies are looking into the matter. We will also examine if there is any terror angle to the incident”.
However, earlier it was believed to be a short circuit, but later on, suitcase bomb was found inside the coach.
