Dense fog is the latest challenge which citizen of the capital is facing from consecutive two days. The capital was in wrap under the blanket of thick fog which resulted in the low visibility.
According to the agencies, “over six international and at least seven domestic flights operating from IGI airport were delayed”.
Due to low visibility operation function at Indira Gandhi International airport got affected which resulted in more than seven domestic flights and six international flights got disrupted and one of the among domestic flight was reported cancelled.
According to a MeT department official said in a statement, “the visibility was recorded at 400 metres at 5:30 AM, which dropped to 100 metres three hours later. Relative humidity was recorded at 97 percent at 8.30 am. Minimum temperature was recorded at 8.7 degrees Celsius, considered as normal for the season”.
An official from railway said, “Two train services were cancelled, while 94 others were running behind schedule by several hours due to the dense fog cover”.
Gurugram also witnessed chilly morning with thick haze and difficulty of low visibility which was reported not less than 50 metres.
The area where the dense fog has given the terrible begun of the day includes: parts of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, Moradabad, Lucknow.
An IMD official said that, “The western disturbance, which is currently hovering over Jammu & Kashmir, is likely to move towards Rajasthan and neighboring states. It will bring along a cold wave”.
Meanwhile the state government has ordered to open all government and private school at 9:00 A.M. in the morning.
