The One day ban on NDTV Hindi news channel which has generated the storm of criticism and arguments has been now put on hold.

This intervention took place when NDTV moves to the Supreme Court on Monday , against the order issued by Ministry of Information and broadcasting which was stated that one day ban on 9 November 2016 , as a penalty over Pathankot coverage in January 2016.

NDTV appealed by refuting the allegations said that “most of the content was already available in the print , social and electronic media and such ban is illegal and unconstitutional.

After the decision, Union minister of Information and broadcasting Venkaiah Naidu said the ban has been put on hold because, it was “in sync with the government’s liberal democratic ethos and principals.

Through a slew of tweets he also said, NDA government has “no ill-will against anyone” and “believes in freedom of expression” unlike the “Congress which muzzled free speech in 1975 & between 2004-2014.”

He also tweeted that “NDTV leadership presented an appeal to me, which I said I will have a look & decided, till the process, the ban will be on hold”.

So the ban on NDTV India has been put on hold till, the government will review the case.
