Delhi: Major fire broke out in Chandni Chowk, Alka Lamba delayed fire relief operation

In a recent development, a major fire broke out has destroyed worth around ₹1 crore property in at least 60 shops was caught under fire in Chandni Chowk’s Katra Dhulia market on Monday.

In a statement, the fire official told the media, “A fire call in a saree shop was received at 10 pm, following which 25 fire tenders were rushed to the spot”.

It was believed that the fire might have caused due to short-circuit in the area.

Although, no casualties have been reported so far.

On the other hand, it was found that AAP MLA Alka Lamba was caught on the crane lift which is used by firemen to douse the fire.

Following this, BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi said, “I condemn the act. Politics should not come in between any type of rescue operations”.
