Delhi Metro Smart Card to become non-refundable from April 1

If you are also the regular commuter of Delhi Metro then this piece of news will surely affect you as, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has announced in its recent statement, that the Delhi Metro smart card will be made non-refundable which will be effected from April 1 2017.

The spokesperson in DMRC said in a statement that “In order to comply with the guidelines/directives of Reserve Bank of India and also for making Metro Smart Card interoperable, it has been decided that Delhi Metro Smart Cards will be non-refundable with effect from April 1”.

The move has been made in order to follow the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines.

The official statement released by the DMRC reads that “The passengers will be given a sunset period from March 1 to 31, during which the passengers, if they so desire, may take refund for their smart cards from the Metro stations”.
