Delhi Police lodged a bribery case against Sasikala’s nephew TTV Dinakaran on Monday.
Delhi’s Crime Branch said Dinakaran was willing to pay up to 50 crores to the Election Commission of India (EC) for AIADMK’s two-leaf symbol which was suspended a few weeks ago.
On Sunday, late night Delhi police arrest of an alleged middleman named Sukesh Chandrasekhar from Hyatt hotel and recovered Rs 1.3 crores from him.
Dinakaran has been charged under IPC sections 170, 120b (Criminal Conspiracy) and 8 (Prevention of the Corruption Act) in the police case.
Delhi police officials will fly to Chennai to issue summons against TTV Dinakaran for further investigation.
Following this, Dinakaran strongly denies the allegations and told media “I will answer if I get a summons. I will face it legally. How does a broker or somebody say the money was from TTV Dinakaran? I don’t know anybody by that name nor have I come across any such name in my life.”
Currently, TTV Dinakaran serves as the deputy general secretary of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party (AIADMK).
