Jallikattu Protest: Tamil Nadu CM Panneerselvam meets Modi, PM says the matter is sub-judice

On Thursday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in Delhi to request for an ordinance to resume Jallikattu following the massive protest across the city.

PM retaliated by saying the matter is sub-Judice, no ordinance can be passed. Not only this PM Modi while appreciating the cultural importance of Jallikattu in Pongal, also ensured that the Centre government will join hands to resolve the matter.

Chennai is witnessing mass protests across the city, from past three days in support of traditional bull taming sports Jallikattu and protest has reached to Delhi’s Jantar Mantar also.

After meeting PM Modi, Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister Said, “Gave the letter to PM saying that ban on Jallikattu must be lifted and Centre should draft an ordinance on it”.

He also added PM Modi, said he gives the highest importance to cultural values of the state. He assured he will extend full support to us”.
