Jharkhand: Man beaten to death for carrying beef

A 45-year-old Muslim man was allegedly killed by a mob in Ramgarh district of Jharkhand in the speculation of carrying beef in his vehicle on Thursday.

The deceased was identified by Police as Alimuddin alias Asgar Ansari.

It was reported that a group of people stopped the Alimuddin car near Bajartand village and started attacking him and set his car on fire.

RK Malik, Police officer termed the killing as “premeditated murder”.

Alimuddin was rescued by the Police and taken to the hospital where he allegedly died.

The incident took place after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the activities of the cow vigilantes in Gujarat on Thursday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Killing people in the name of Gau Bhakti is not acceptable. This is not something Mahatma Gandhi would approve”.
