In a shocking incident, a youth who hails from Bengaluru has allegedly committed suicide on Monday by jumping off from the 19th floor of Mumbai’s Taj Hotel. Before committing suicide, he posted the whole incident through Facebook Live.
The deceased has been identified as Arjun Bharadwaj (23), who is the third year engineering student from Narsee Monjee College, Mumbai. Before jumping from the 19th floor of Mumbai’s Taj Hotel, he had uploaded a video on social networking site- Facebook describing it as a tutorial on how to commit suicide.
It was reported that the boy broke the glass window of the hotel room and jump off at around 6.30 pm. While investigating the case Police has discovered a suicide note from his room in which he is saying thanks to his friends and parents.
Although, Police officials are checking the CCTV footage of the 5-star hotel to inspect if someone has visited the boy during the day.
In a statement Pandit Thackeray, Senior Inspector of Bandra police station said, “We have informed the family about the incident and they have come to the city from Bengaluru to collect the body”.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Police tweeted about the incident and posted: “Deeply bereaved with the suicide of a young boy in the city. We urge the youngsters to reach out to us #WeAreListening. Contact us on 100.”
