Mumbai: Woman gave birth to boy at Thane railway station

A 24-year-old woman allegedly gave birth to a baby boy on a platform of Mumbai local on Wednesday.

The mother who was identified as Meenakshi, who was going with her husband to visit a hospital, started experiencing labor pain when reached the Thane railway station.

Meenakshi along with her husband Sandesh Jadhav reached Thane railway station to catch a local train at Ghatkopar.

When her husband asked for the help Railway Protection Force ( RPF) officer Shobha Mothe and another woman reached the spot and helped the mother.

After a few minutes, crying sound of a baby was heard on the platform of Thane Railway station and Meenakshi gave birth to a baby boy.

After the delivery mother and the baby were shifted to Civil Hospital, where both are reportedly safe.
