On Friday, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited New Delhi airport to receive his counterpart from Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina.
Bangladesh PM is on a four-day visit to India during which she holds bilateral talks with PM Modi tomorrow regarding defence, civil nuclear cooperation, combating terrorism, containing radicalism and much more to enhance the cordial and cooperative relationship between the two countries.
“The upcoming visit is expected to further expand the cordial and cooperative relationship between India and Bangladesh and build on the strong ties of friendship and trust between the two leaders,” a joint statement issued by the two countries stated earlier.
It is also expected at least 25 agreements are likely to be signed between India and Bangladesh.
This is Sheikh Hasina’s first visit to India after PM Modi took charge in office.
Bangladesh PM will also call Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and also likely to meet congress president Sonia Gandhi.
On Sunday, Hasina will visit Ajmer. She will also attend a function at Manekshaw Centre to honor Indian Armed Forces members who embraced martyrdom in Bangladesh Liberation war in the year 1971.
