Following the footsteps of Telangana government, now the Punjab Government has announced free education for girls in govt schools and colleges on Tuesday.
The Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has announced free education for girls will be provided from nursery to the doctorate level in every government institutions of Punjab.
While making an announcement in the Vidhan Sabha, Amarinder Singh also included that free textbooks will be provided for the next academic session, which will also be available online for the free download.
Even, Free Wi-Fi will be provided in 13,000 primary schools and all 48 govt colleges, Punjab CM, Amarinder Singh said.
Singh said five new colleges will be introduced in the state during this fiscal year.
However, this step taken up by the Punjab government is believed to boost women empowerment.
