Rajasthan: 20-year-old girl was burnt alive when protesting against cutting of trees

In a dreadful incident, a 20-year-old girl was burnt alive in a village near Jodhpur, Rajasthan when she protested against the cutting of trees in her farm.

The incident took place in the Pipda city of Jodhpur district in Rajasthan on Sunday when the victim Lalita protested against the cutting of trees which were planted on her farm. It was reported that the trees were being cut for the construction of the road.

Police official told the media, “The sarpanch and other people poured petrol on her and burnt her alive. The body is in the mortuary. We will arrest the accused soon, after a fair investigation”.

Police said that the victim had an argument with the villagers over the cutting of trees; the clash turns ugly and the villagers poured petrol and allegedly burnt her alive on fire.

It was learned that the village sarpanch Ranveer Singh was too involved in this horrific incident.

Although, the girl was rushed to the hospital in Jodhpur where she failed to resist the injuries and died on Monday morning. The body of the girl has been kept in MJH hospital.

However, Police has registered the case and the investigation is in the process.
