Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been summoned by the Patiala house court on Monday as against a defamation complaint was filed by the Essel Group Chairman and Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Chandra.

While asking Delhi CM to appear in front of court Metropolitan Magistrate Snigdha Sarvaria said he must appear in front of the court before July 29.

In a statement, Metropolitan Magistrate Snigdha Sarvaria said: “Clearly there is sufficient material on record to summon accused Arvind Kejriwal of the offense punishable under section 500 (defamation) of Indian Penal Code”.

Although, while addressing a press conference last year on November 11, Chandra has claimed that the politician has made false fabricated and defamatory allegations against him.

Arvind Kejriwal has mentioned the Essel Group Chairman’s name while pointing out the names who have gathered big black money.

However, Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Chandra has filed a complaint under Section of 500 IPC in the defamation case.
