Supreme Court to start hearing on triple talaq

The Supreme Court will start the historic hearing on the set of pleas today considering ‘triple talaq’,  ‘nikah halala’.

It was reported that the bunch of pleas will be heard by five Supreme Court judges who are from the different faith and different religion.

The bench of the judges includes the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Jagdish Singh Khehar, S. Abdul Nazeer, Justices Kurian Joseph, Rohinton Fali Nariman and Uday Umesh Lalit.

Earlier in December last year, Allahabad High Court has given the term “unconstitutional” for divorcing a woman by uttering the word talaq thrice times.
