Union minister Harsh Vardhan appointed as new Environment Minister

Harsh Vardhan takes the reins of Environment Minister after the sudden demise of Anil Madhav Dave on 18 May 2017.

It was reported that Union minister Harsh Vardhan has taken the charge of the new Environment Minister after the demise, former Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave and the seat of the candidature was vacant.

“Involvement of the people is crucial for protection and conservation of the environment. People’s participation has to be increased”, Harsh Vardhan said.

In a statement Union minister, Harsh Vardhan said, “Dave-Ji did a great deal of work to protect our rivers, forests, the ecosystem with the passion and the dedication of a true environmentalist”.

However, after assuming the responsibilities of the new Environment Minister, Harsh Vardhan planted a sapling in the premises of the Environment Ministry.
