Veteran Army Jawan allegedly commits suicide : Opposition leaders were detained

Ram Kishan Gerewal, Veteran Army Jawan, commits suicide by consuming poison in the lawns behind Jawahar Bhawan on Tuesday night, over the implementations of one rank one pension scheme and he has been protesting from over one year at Jantar Mantar Delhi.

He also left suicide note, in which he has mentioned that he is committing suicide due to delay in meeting up the demands of retired army Jawans.

Soon after this unfortunate incident, high voltage drama took place when congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Cabinet Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister, and other opposition leaders were detained by Delhi Police ,when they tried to meet the family of Ex-Army man at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital , Delhi and not allowed to enter into hospital premises and later they were released in evening.

Even though Delhi police also detained the family members of Ex- army man when they tried to meet to Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi was detained twice first was from outside RML and secondly at Mandir Marg. Rahul told Media that ” after he was stopped at outside the gate of RML Hospital that, “This is a particular type of mentality, now, they don’t believe in democracy… This is the new India in the making”
Soon, after this incident,they started pointing Modi government for this issue.

He also tweeted that “I urge the PM once again: soldiers should not have to struggle to claim what is their due. OROP must be implemented in a meaningful way!

My heartfelt condolences to the family of Subedar Ram Kishan Grewal. Extremely sad to learn of his death,”

Kejriwal also tweeted soon after his realese reference to this incident that “Both farmers and soldiers are committing suicide in Modi Raj. That means the Prime Minister is lying that OROP has been implemented. Why would Ram Kishan ji have committed suicide if OROP was being implemented?”

Opposition leaders also, demanded Modi Government to apologize for this unfortunate incident and for delaying the implementation of One Rank Pension scheme.
