On Friday morning, veteran journalist Dileep Padgaonkar passes away at the age of 72 in Pune. He was not well from past few days.
He was admitted to the Ruby hospital on November 18, following a heart attack. Soon after he suffered from multiple organ failure and was on dialysis after kidney failure.
Padgaonkar began his journalistic career at the age of 24. He was the former editor of times of India. He joined Times of India as its Paris correspondent after receiving a master degree in humanities from the Sorbonne in June 1968. He became newspaper editor in 1988 and served this post for six years. He had also worked with UNESCO in Paris and Bangkok.
Later, when he came back to India joined as an editor of Times of India. Well-known journalist was also one of the team members of Kashmir interlocutors selected by UPA.
