It is no less than a fairy tale when you make such powerful and cute couple; the whole nation has been talking just about you.

We have heard the phrase, “Love happens at first sight” but this gentleman has proved it all right by losing his heart to UPSC topper and would be bride, Tina Dabi. Twenty-two year old Dalit girl, Dabi will soon tie the knot with Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi who hails from a small village in J&K and is a Kashmiri Muslim.  The two are currently undergoing training in Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy for Administration in Mussorie.

In 2016, two weeks ago, the two announced that they were in a relationship. It gathered everyone’s eye ball when Dabi shared a photo of them together from Buxar with the title “In a relationship with Athar Aamir Khan”. And their facebook pages were flooded with comments, blessings and congratulatory messages.

The picture was shared several times and liked by over 10,000 users.

“God bless you guys. Proud of u Tina that you hv taken the decision that challenges the social nd cultural stereotypes. Wish you good luck to the journey of ‘Authentic life’,” wrote Aeon Abhineel, a Facebook user.

In an interview to TOI, Dabi said:

“We met in the morning (for a felicitation function in our Department) and by evening Aamir was at my door. Uske liye pehli nazar mein pyaar ho gaya (For him, it was love at first sight). But I thank Aamir every day for his perseverance. He is a wonderful person”.

Along with love and support for the pair, there had been some criticism with people questioning her choice of partner. Dabi told TOI:

“We are in love and very happy. But I must admit that I get very disturbed when I read stuff about us. We have stopped googling our names and reading news about ourselves. I think it is a small price to pay for being in the public eye”.

Dabi also has an amazing answer to all those who has a notion that falling in love with someone from a different religion is a crime.

“As any freethinking independent woman I am entitled to certain choices. I am very happy with my choice and so is Aamir. Our parents are happy too. But there will always be those elements, that small minority who will always pass negative comments about dating someone from another religion”.

Just one adjective for Miss Dabi- “Beauty with Brains”!
