Earthquake: 7.8 magnitude quake hits Russia

A massive earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 measured on the rector scale jolted the citizen of Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula on Tuesday morning.

The quake reportedly struck the area at 11:34 am on Tuesday.

The US Geological Survey said the quake struck in the northern Pacific Ocean, which also includes Alaska’s Aleutian Islands and Russia.

Although, The US Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has earlier warned that “hazardous tsunami waves were possible for coasts within 300 km (186 miles) of the earthquake epicenter”.
